Theory and modelling of laminar and turbulent reactive flows including:

  • combustion in SI-engines, gas turbines and other industrial / laboratory applications
  • intrinsic flame instabilities (Darrieus-Landau, Rayleigh-Taylor, thermal-diffusion etc.)
  • turbulence, flame turbulization and flame propagation in an external turbulent flow
  • flame interaction with sound waves and with the walls of the burning chamber
  • flame acceleration, deflagration-to-detonation transition, and related phenomena
