Research
Delin Zhu's current research interests include: flame structure,
propagation, ignition and extinction, microgravity combustion, high
pressure flame (up to 60 atm), droplet combustion of energetic
fuels and propellants, droplet collision, pulse detonation engine.
His work experiences include: combustion burner and pressure
chamber design and manufacture, optical diagnostic, pressure and
temperature control and measurement, high speed imaging, management
of research lab. He has authored and co-authored more than 20
journal publications.
Awards
He received a Silver Medal from the Combustion Institute at the
Twenty-Second International Combustion Symposium in 1990, a Best
Paper Award of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
at Microgravity Science and Space processing Symposium in 1998, and
a Best Paper Award from AIAA Propulsion and Combustion Technical
Committee in 2001.
